In order to rent a Space Station storage room, you'll need the following:

• A photo ID – a valid passport or driving license photocard
• Proof of address – a bank statement or utility bill from within the last three months
• Contact details – your phone number, email and postal address, as well as alternative emergency contact details

Business accounts will also need:

• A purchase order
• A business bank account statement
• A copy of your letterhead

You'll also need to bring a padlock with you, to lock your unit. Though we do sell these in our on-site stores.

Just you – and whoever you give your key to. Our units are locked by a padlock, which you can either provide yourself or buy in our on-site store. The key is held by you and you alone.

There are a few things you can’t keep in one of our storage rooms – sorry to be sticklers, but it’s all for health, safety and legal reasons . Please do not try and store the following with us:

• Anything that can be construed as illegal under British law
• Perishables – food and drinks
• Combustibles and solvents – flammable items, cleaning supplies, fuels, grease and oils
• Living things – people, pets, and plants
• Cash and jewellery
• Waste of any kind, including toxic waste

All goods placed in self-storage with Space Station must be insured. We can arrange a bespoke self-storage insurance policy when you move in, ensuring your valuables are covered as soon as they are placed inside the storage unit. Alternatively, you can organise your own insurance policy – please note that not all household insurances will cover you whilst your goods are in a storage facility, so please check with your insurer. It is your responsibility to keep the insurance valid.

You can make your first payment through credit or debit card, and then subsequent payments will be taken through direct debit. Your first payment will include a minimum of one month’s rental, and a refundable security deposit.

The majority of our stores are open from 8:30am to 6:00pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Some stores offer late opening until 8pm on Thursdays.

Containers and bulk rooms can be accessed 24/7 at many of our centres. Contact your local Space Station store for more information.

Yes, we offer a complimentary removals service at all our stores – contact your nearest branch for more information. We will collect your items from your home or businesses and transport them to your new storage room for you.

Yes! We offer the following loyalty discounts: Bronze 5% discount when you commit to 6 months storage; Silver 10% discount when you prepay for 6 months storage; Gold 15% discount when you commit to 12 months storage; Platinum 20% discount when you prepay for 12 months storage. We also offer reduced price deals for students.

Our minimum rental period is one week, and can be extended at any time.
