Space Station responds to school SOS

Space Station Self Storage jumped to the rescue when a local school put out an SOS for someone to help them free up space.

Two giant containers were quickly made available for free to headmaster Kevin Jennings of Iqra Islamic School, in Grasmere Avenue, Slough, Berkshire SL2 5JD.

Equipment and supplies were quickly moved in to the containers to let the school open as a polling station for the election.

The container space will allow the school’s 630 pupil more room.

“Space Station was only too pleased to help,” said Jonathan Slade, regional manager for Slough Space Station Self Storage, sited at St Paul’s Avenue, Slough.

“Our centre has a policy of helping out the community whenever we can, because our staff live and work in Slough and are part of the community and as the town supports our business, we feel it’s only right to give something back when we can.”

Iqra is a voluntary aided Islamic school that opened on September 3, 2008 in buildings that had housed Lea Infant School and Lea Junior School in Slough.
