Space Station to star in a new TV show, Storage Hoarders

Look out for Space Station on your TV screens this December as a new series, Storage Hoarders, hits daytime ITV. The series aims to combine decluttering with the personal stories behind the storage – and attempts to uncover some hidden treasures along the way.
Aggie MacKenzie, well-known for presenting the hit TV show How Clean Is Your House? will front the twenty 60-minute episodes of Storage Hoarders.

Self-Storage is a big business and on the rise. This new 20 x 60′ series will meet the people who have taken their storage hoarding habits too far. The series will delve into the lives of dedicated hoarders that need extra storage space to accommodate all their possessions.Space Station was approached by Twofour to create the programme. They were looking for people that used our self storage rooms to hoard their belongings. After emailing our customers, and receiving quite a few enthusiastic replies, four of them were chosen to appear in the show.In August, filming began at our Uxbridge storage facility. On site, we had people from the production company, the customers who were being filmed, removal men, an antique expert and, of course, the lovely Aggie MacKenzie – as well as our usual customers who were wondering what all the fuss was about. All very hectic and terrific fun!

Aggie MacKenzie met the people who are still clinging onto things they never see or use … In each episode they’ll be challenged to sort through their stuff and say goodbye to the things they no longer need. An antiques expert will seek out any hidden gems and turn their forgotten collectibles into hard cash at the auction.

Along the way Aggie will explore the emotional reasons why people struggle to let go of the past and enlists the help of a long-suffering partner, friend or relative to help them break the habit. At the end, our Hoarders hope to be happier and clutter free.

Tune into the series from Monday, 10th December at 2pm on ITV1.
