Table football donated to Hillingdon Hospital

Staff from the Space Station Self Storage in Uxbridge had the pleasure of helping out another busy local institution recently, Hillingdon Hospital. Adam Sperling, the Store Manager and Jayne Gander, Duty Manager from the Horton Road store delivered a football table to the hospital’s children’s’ out-patients ward. The table was donated by the Uxbridge team to say ‘Thank you’ to the staff at the hospital and to bring some fun into a sometimes tense environment.

Hillingdon is one of the foremost hospitals in North West London. Located close to Heathrow Airport, the hospital is the only acute hospital in the area with a busy Accident & Emergency, inpatients, day surgery and outpatient clinics. The Children’s Outpatients department caters for babies to 16 year olds, and incorporates four clinic rooms and the all-important play/waiting area.

Upon arrival at the hospital, Space Station’s Adam and Jayne were introduced to some of the nurses and patients at the hospital. A reporter from the Uxbridge Gazette was also on hand to capture the occasion.

The table football was an instant hit, as Adam and Jayne explained: “We invited some of the young patients to have a game with us. It was really uplifting to see the response from both the staff and patients.”

Children visit the Hillingdon Hospital children’s’ out-patients ward to deal with illnesses ranging from respiratory problems to oncology, dermatology to diabetes, so a little light relief in the form of a game of a table football is always welcome.

The stylish and sturdy football table is sure to liven up time spent in the waiting room. Many of the kids that come to the clinic are football mad, so the chance to enjoy a game on this awesome table is an opportunity to play football at a time when they may not be able to take part in the real thing.

The team at Space Station’s Uxbridge branch at 200 Horton Road, Stockley Park West, are delighted to have made a positive difference to this important local facility. It has been such a success that thoughts are now turning to saving up for our very own football table!
