Welcome to the Summer edition of The Edit – time is flying by and we’re already over half way through 2018! We’ve been busy as usual so here’s what’s been happening and what’s coming up…
We ended 2017 on a high reaching £15,000 of our £20,000 fundraising target for Variety the Children’s Charity. They say Christmas is the season of good will and that was certainly true for Space
Station customers and friends who generously donated and took part in raffles, tombola’s and games which helped us achieve this!
A great big Thank you!
Since then, our Marketing Manager Vlatka has completed not one but two half marathons in aid of Variety and raised £425.00 in the process! Well done Vlatka!
We held a fundraising stall at the Langley Carnival in July, there’s also been in store raffles and tombola’s, a World Cup sweepstake plus donations from some generous customers.
We’ve now reached a total of £17,200 and we’re getting excited about achieving our overall target! If you would like to make a donation to help us on our way please visit our fundraising page
In addition to fundraising we also donate £5.00 to Variety for every Trust Pilot review we receive, whether it’s good bad or indifferent. We’ve reached a total of 500 reviews on Trust Pilot and just this year the donations from reviews have so far equaled over £500! So if you’ve stored with us and you can spare a moment to leave your feedback on our service head over to Trust Pilot and leave us a review. Read our reviews
Plus if you’ve had a good experience and you refer us to a friend we will reward you both!
We are really pleased to announce that we have a new store! Our newest storage facility is located on Cricklewood Broadway in North West London.
Our maintenance team are busy transforming Cricklewood to match the rest of the Space Station stores, in the meantime it’s business as usual. If you're in the area, pop in and say hello!
Our Chiswick store has also had a recent makeover with new signage – look out for the elephant next time you approach West London on the M4!
Let us do the hard work
We don’t think anyone really enjoys the act of shifting boxes in a move, so let us do the hard work and take advantage of our free removal service!
When you chose to store with Space Station, we carefully transfer your items to your new storage unit, completely free of charge. No searching for removal companies and getting quotes and no lifting heavy boxes.
…and now our staff news…
Dorothy’s 100th birthday
As we ended 2017 on a high we entered 2018 with a very special celebration – with Space Station owner Alastair Caldwell’s mother turning 100!
Dorothy lives in New Zealand but we made sure she got a birthday message from everyone at Space Station!
Alan’s 70th birthday
There was another special birthday at Space Station recently as Alan from our West London region celebrated his 70th birthday this month! Nicknamed ‘The Godfather’ Alan has worked at Space Station for 17 years and is a real asset to the company – congratulations Alan!
35th anniversary of Space Station
Celebrations continued as we also mark the 35th anniversary of Space Station this year. At the beginning of July staff and friends were invited to enjoy a boat trip on the River Thames to celebrate. There was sunshine, food, entertainment and a great time was had by all! We also raised a fantastic £500 for Variety through a raffle.
Since the last edition of our newsletter we’ve welcomed a new Multi Trader to the team, Lee Hazelwood. Lee has settled in to his role and the maintenance team really well – well done Lee!
We’ve also welcomed two new Customer Sales Advisors; Julia at our Kings Heath store and Lizzie in our North London region.
As the company continues to grow we’re looking for new stars to join the Space Station family. Take a look at our website to view our current vacancies.
